Craig Nakanishi concentrates his practice in the following areas:

Public Utilities: Represent and advise public utility companies and common carriers providing electric, telecommunication and transportation services in rate, regulatory and other administrative proceedings, appeals from administrative decisions, on state and federal laws regulating utilities, in contract negotiations, and on general corporate issues.

Business, Commercial and Real Property Transactions:
Represent and advise clients in the acquisition or divestiture of capital stock or assets of various businesses. Examples include the sale or acquisition of a technology operation, retail operation, professional office, automotive dealership, carpet manufacturer, container manufacturer, distribution network, radio station, rental car franchise, and roller manufacturer.   
-  Represent and advise clients in the negotiation, documentation and implementation of a diverse array of contracts, including technology development, manufacturing, wholesale, retail, operating, distribution, franchising, leasing, employment, and consulting arrangements.
Represent and advise clients in transactions involving the purchase, sale or leasing of real property.
Advise business clients regarding various issues arising in their day-to-day operations.

Governmental Relations: Represent clients before government agencies of the State of Hawaii including commissions, departments and administrative boards in the registration, licensing and permitting of business operations in the State.

Business Organizations: Represent clients in structuring, forming and documenting their business organizations, as well as in the dissolution, liquidation and/or reorganization of their operations in the State of Hawaii.

Prior to opening his own law firm, Mr. Nakanishi was a partner in the law firm of Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel.  Mr. Nakanishi has also practiced law with the Los Angeles office of Jones Day Reavis & Pogue, one of the world's largest law firms. After graduating from law school, Mr. Nakanishi served as law clerk to the Honorable Robert Boochever of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  While at the University of California at Davis, Mr. Nakanishi served on the law school admissions committee, tutored civil procedure, and was a member of the Asian Law Students Association, UC Davis Law Review, and Order of the Coif.
